The Marvel Comic iPad app is one of my favorites (among an ever increasing gaggle of favorite apps). Unlike my friend Fred, the install went smooth, and comic reading and buying fun, easy and cheap.

Then last night, problem. I downloaded Ghost Rider and it just hung (for hours) – quitting the app and restarting the iPad provided no fix. I fired off an in-application feedback comment (as an error report). Woke up this morning to an email from the comiXOlogy development team, indicating the problem had been fixed (and it was) letting me have some Ghost Rider motorcycle hero reading over early morning coffee.

Bug fix and response in about 9 hrs, after hours on a Friday night / Sat morning? Nicely done, comiXology.

My idea of a lunch BBQ over the morning coffee / chore run has morphed into an early dinner BBQ. In addition to the swank new grill brush, kosher hot dogs and English bangers, and three side salads, but I grabbed a new bubba keg cooler to keep things cool.

Charcoal is going in the chimney, my Halo IPA is cold, the neighbors will be over in a few, and the cow skull is pleased. BBQ season is on – or, in the words of Johnny Storm: “Flame on!”

It’s another hugely busy week, but I did take a little time tonight to stop and enjoy the roses. Technically, and better yet, my roses.

The toughest thing for me to adjust to as an adult has been rising early. Or maybe it’s maintain since I’ve both been an adult for some time now I suppose and well rise early for some time now as well.

Does’t mean I like it. Not a bit.

Don’t get me wrong – I get (and enjoy) the benefits of getting up early. I’d still prefer to sleep in late, or just veg in the slippers and robe with the cup of coffee.

This morning, I’ve at least got the coffee – courtesy of Seppi’s which is about halfway to the BART station.

Bout time to be one the road to make the donuts.
