I forget sometimes – for years, apparently – that I have a personal blog. Focused on other things, I suppose.

Happy Mother’s Day, in any event.

Especially in these trying days, I am thankful for my family, my friends, colleagues and the men and woman in my life who support me in good times and in challenging times.

Wishing all of you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving!

From the Guardian: Occupy Oakland: “Iraq war veteran in critical condition after police clashes Scott Olsen, 24, in hospital with fractured skull and brain swelling after allegedly being hit by a police projectile in Oakland”.

I don’t support the methods or actions of OWS or Occupy Oakland; and I’m skeptical of the whole thing. I also sure as hell don’t support extreme and violent police response against citizens.

This is madness.

The Marvel Comic iPad app is one of my favorites (among an ever increasing gaggle of favorite apps). Unlike my friend Fred, the install went smooth, and comic reading and buying fun, easy and cheap.

Then last night, problem. I downloaded Ghost Rider and it just hung (for hours) – quitting the app and restarting the iPad provided no fix. I fired off an in-application feedback comment (as an error report). Woke up this morning to an email from the comiXOlogy development team, indicating the problem had been fixed (and it was) letting me have some Ghost Rider motorcycle hero reading over early morning coffee.

Bug fix and response in about 9 hrs, after hours on a Friday night / Sat morning? Nicely done, comiXology.
