Oddly enough, one of the few times I enjoy an early morning is when I’m on vacation. I was up early today, the last day of Kublacon, and got a quiet seat near the waterfall from which to enjoy my coffee and NYT.

You’d have almost mistaken me for a morning person.

;)

I was fairly popular at the office today. Mom baked her famous chocolate cake for me to bring into work. This means of course that I don’t have said cake waiting at home, a small price to pay to be a man of the people. ;)

Of course, there was an earlier cake last weekend that stayed home (and didn’t last long at all), so it’s not like I missed out.

I wasn’t able to eat this morning due to a blood-draw, but once that was over, I read my email over a cup of coffee … And a slice of that cake. :)

Happily, my Mom is visiting for Mother’s Day and a good bit beyond. Having a guest bedroom and plenty of space makes it very do-able.

As a result, I get some home cooking, of course. :) Tonight was my Mom’s famous sweet-and-sour meatballs, with mashed potatoes. Add in a big salad, bread, and Jenna’s strawberry shortcake, and there were five very stuffed people.

That’s some good eating. :)
